Welcome to the fifth instalment of our Get to Know Me Series, where you can get closer to the people who make up our NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solution team. This time, we're excited to introduce Katy Drew, our Category Procurement Specialist for Contract Management.
Katy has a rich background in contract management across various roles, and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Let’s delve into her journey and discover what she finds most fulfilling.
1. What is your role and what did you do before joining the team?
I’m the Category Procurement Specialist for Contract Management. Previously I have worked in contract management roles within the Department of Health and Social Care and other roles within NHS Supply Chain. This position within the Facilities and Office Solutions team offered me a great opportunity to embrace some new challenges and develop my perfectly matched skillset, whilst leveraging my background in contract management to effectively contribute to our team's goals.
2. What does your job involve?
As a Category Management Service Provider (CMSP) for Facilities and Office Solutions, my primary responsibility is to ensure we meet our contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes overseeing effective complaint handling, delivering our procurement milestones according to plan, maintaining high data quality standards, and ensuring our service levels consistently meet or exceed targets. These KPIs are crucial not just for operational excellence but also because they're integral to our remuneration model. It's a role that combines precision, diligence, and a deep understanding of both our objectives and the broader implications for the organisation.
3. What do you enjoy most about your role?
The most enjoyable aspect of my job is the diversity of responsibilities it encompasses. It keeps me engaged with team members and colleagues from across the whole NHS Supply Chain, ensuring that no two days are the same! This variety brings fresh challenges and learning opportunities, making each day both interesting and rewarding.
