Welcome back to our 'Get to Know Me' series. In this latest feature, we introduce Joshua Wardell, our new team member at NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solutions. Discover what inspired Josh to bring his expertise to the NHS and how he is making a difference in his role as an Implementation and Adoption Specialist.

1. Could you tell us about your journey to becoming an Implementation and Adoption (I&A) Specialist and what your role entails?

Absolutely! I am one of the Implementation and Adoption Specialists within the NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solutions Team. Before joining the team, I managed a branch in the vehicle rental industry, where I honed skills in stakeholder management, sales, and business improvement. This varied role has given invaluable experience for my current role, where I am responsible for presenting opportunities to trusts, actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure that crucial insights and feedback is shared with our procurement team, to use in implementing frameworks that respond to the needs of, and offer true benefit to, our customers.

2. What aspects of your role do you find most rewarding, and have there been any surprises since you started working here?

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to network with a diverse community of customers across the NHS in England. It's incredibly fulfilling to know that my work contributes to the NHS and the vital services they deliver. Since starting here, the biggest surprise for me has been the vast size of the NHS and the myriad of opportunities it presents, especially in my role. The scope and scale of the NHS are truly astounding, and it's exciting to be a part of it.

3. How has your experience been working with the wider Implementation and Adoption Team and other teams throughout the organisation?

Working with the wider I&A Team and other teams across the organisation has been fantastic. It's great to be part of a supportive network where everyone brings different skills and experiences to the table. The variety of backgrounds and expertise within the team makes for a dynamic working environment, and I genuinely learn something new every day. I'm really enjoying the collaborative approach we take towards our shared goals, and it is so rewarding to be able to represent the voice of the customer and have it listened to.
