Strengthening supplier relationships
At NOE CPC, we recognise that strong supplier relationship management is about much more than managing contracts. It is about building meaningful partnerships, understanding market developments, and working collaboratively with suppliers to ensure we can deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers and the patients they serve.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supplier engagement, members of our NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solutions team recently visited Zebra Technologies’ Experience Centre (ZEC) to gain first-hand insight into the latest digital innovations transforming healthcare and other critical sectors. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to explore emerging technologies, discuss market trends, and better understand the evolving needs and challenges facing organisations as they adopt new digital solutions.
During the session, Zebra demonstrated how advanced digital technologies are helping organisations gain real-time, actionable insights that support operational excellence. Through a series of interactive demonstrations, we saw how data capture, mobile computing and intelligent automation can enhance frontline operations and create more efficient, informed ways of working.
A particular focus was on the role technology can play in improving patient care and operational performance across healthcare settings. Zebra showcased solutions designed to strengthen patient and staff identification, improve specimen tracking, and enhance asset visibility. We also explored how digital tools can streamline workflows, increase staff productivity, improve access to critical information at the point of care, and help organisations maximise the value of their IT investments.
Beyond the technology demonstrations, the visit provided an excellent forum for open discussion about the challenges healthcare organisations face when implementing innovative solutions. Conversations around market trends, future developments and best practice approaches offered valuable supplier insight into both current capabilities and the direction of travel across the sector.
These discussions reinforce the importance of maintaining strong relationships with suppliers across our portfolio. Every supplier brings unique expertise, innovation and market intelligence that can help inform our understanding of changing customer needs and emerging opportunities. By engaging proactively with suppliers of all sizes and specialties, we can develop a more comprehensive view of the marketplace, foster collaboration, and ensure we remain responsive to the needs of the NHS.
The visit forms part of our wider supplier engagement activity and will help inform our thinking as we continue the pre-market engagement phase for our new framework. By taking the time to understand suppliers’ latest innovations and strategic direction, we can ensure our future framework solutions reflect market developments, support customer priorities, and ultimately contribute to improved patient outcomes.
Supplier relationship management remains a key part of our approach. Through regular engagement, collaboration and knowledge sharing, we can continue to build strong partnerships that support innovation, deliver value and help create a stronger future for healthcare procurement.
