NOE CPC Events

Over the past few weeks we have formed a working group to look at how NOE CPC can continue to deliver events during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We’ve taken learning from our annual customer surveys and individual event feedback, and gone right back to the heart of the matter about WHY we deliver events, and made an honest appraisal of whether these should continue.

The answer to this final question was a resounding YES, and so the next phase needs to be WHAT we should be delivering and HOW, once social distancing is no longer as stringent.

Our feeling is that we should continue to deliver what we are already good at (so legal seminars, members forums, contract and category-specific meetings etc), but also in fact to add to that portfolio.

As a first step, on 1st September our Technical Services team will be delivering a short session to help you maximise your use of Teams’ functionality. Most of us, whether by choice or by necessity, have become pretty adept in how to take part in, or even run, Teams meetings. But what else can Teams do for us?

You might not be aware, but NOE CPC has been using Teams since February 2018 and were one of the first NHS adopters, and with that have developed a wealth of knowledge around this fantastic tool.

This session will really help you master its less well-known features, and provide you with handy hints and tips about how to make your life easier using Teams, in a friendly and interactive format. Many of you will already be aware of the very useful YouTube tutorials on this subject , but we hope this session will give you the chance to dig a little deeper, and take advantage of the expert knowledge we hold within NOE CPC.

Looking further ahead, we really look forward to bringing you more “live” events where you can attend in person.  In addition,  we are exploring how we can retain some of what we have learned around virtual events, to try and deliver “hybrid” type events, where you can attend “in-person” but we also offer facilities to take part virtually, either through a live feed, or by offering recordings to view at your convenience.

Please let us know your views on any of the above – if we have missed anything do let us know, and we will very much try to incorporate suggestions from our members.

Please see here our current list of events. You’ll notice that our September and October legal seminars in partnership with Sintons and Hempsons are still going ahead, but both now via live webinar.

With regards to the Members Forum on 4th November, this is currently scheduled to be a live, in-person event at the OEC in Sheffield. However, we are well aware that this might need to change so are prepared to bring this on-line as necessary. Please do, therefore, put this event in your calendars, and secure your place by signing up via our website.

However, if you feel you’d like the opportunity to “meet up” with other NOE CPC members sooner for a virtual mini-forum or something similar, do please tell us by dropping a line to caroline.brash@noecpc.nhs.uk, and we’ll try and fit something in during September. If you have any strong views or suggestions around format, again, your input will be very gratefully received.
