Welcome to the latest in our 'Get to know me' series. We are sharing a snapshot of new people who have joined NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solutions and what drew them to share their knowledge and skills with the NHS.

Now let's get to know Kristie Gill.

1. What is your role within Supply Chain?

My job title is Procurement graduate. I decided to leave my previous career in broadcasting to go back to university as I knew I wanted something different out of my career. After graduating I was a little unsure exactly what I wanted to do but knew I wanted to work in an industry that was challenging, ever-changing and at its core, dedicated to helping others. When I came across the procurement graduate scheme, I was attracted to it right away as it fulfilled the three things I was looking for. I love learning on the job and a scheme that allowed me to gain a qualification alongside on the job training really appealed to me. The intricacies of procurement are fascinating, and there is just so many different avenues to learn about, so to combine that with working within the NHS, seemed like the perfect option for me at this point in my career progression. I’m really excited to get stuck in!

2. What does your job involve?

I will be sitting within the NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solutions team and over the next two years will complete my CIPs level four alongside it. I’ll be moving around different divisions within this team, and hope to dip my toes into a wide array of different tasks, projects and responsibilities.

3. What do you enjoy most about your role?

I’m most excited about coming into an industry that is completely new to me and learning a host of new skills to develop myself professionally. The idea of moving around different teams is really exciting to me, as I look forward to gaining a well-rounded understanding of procurement with NHS Supply Chain.
