In this procurement law update, Rachel Whitaker, will provide an overview of the progress of the public procurement reform programme including that of:

  • the eagerly anticipated Procurement Bill; and
  • the forthcoming Provider Selection Regime.

The session, will look at the key emerging themes and proposals and shine a spotlight on the issues that contacting authorities and commissioners will need to be live to in the run up to the implementation phase. There will be time at the end for questions and answers as well.   

Rachel is a partner in Browne Jacobson’s Commercial Health team and leads the firm’s health sector procurement practice. Rachel provides strategic, transactional and operational procurement advice to our health and care sector clients on a range of procurement matters including the award of clinical services contracts as well as those for equipment and non-clinical services. Rachel also advises clients on contentious procurement matters.

Rachel is recognised for the depth of her knowledge in the complex area of health care procurement where her knowledge of NHS governance complements her procurement expertise and allows her to detailed and pragmatic project advice and guidance as well.

Rachel is part of Browne Jacobson’s core group briefing and advising on the forthcoming changes to procurement legislation (both health sector specific and more widely).
