Employee Benefits and Mid Yorks Hospitals NHS

Background

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust have been NOE CPC members for 10 years, and as part of their commitment to staff wellbeing, offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to all their employees. In recognising the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had, it was imperative that on re-procurement of their Employee Assistance Programme the offering was reviewed and enhanced. Through market engagement with several employee benefits providers, a solution was identified that met their requirements which were available via a direct award to VIVUP under the NOE CPC Employee Benefits framework.

The project

Susan Horn, Senior Contracts Manager Procurement and Supplies at Mid Yorkshire said: “As members, we try to come to NOE CPC first to see if they have a solution to our needs. This framework not only provides us with a compliant route to market for our Employee Assistance Programme, but also allows staff to access other staff benefits such as our Cycle to Work scheme, and Home & Electronic scheme through a single sign-on application available to them on their mobile/electronic devices.

“As part of the Reward and Recognition benefit scheme available to the trust, we were able to provide electronic reward cards for our 9000 employees redeemable at over 100 outlets at very short notice. Statistics provided by VIVUP has identified that 87% of our staff have accessed our employee benefit offering through an electronic or mobile device, assisting us greatly in our efforts to reach all our employees including our remote workers.”

Outcome

Since the start of the contract in April 2021 the trust has made not only a financial saving of circa £89,000 through the existing employee benefits offering; but has also benefited from reduced management time for the trust due to the wide range of comprehensive reports provided by VIVUP.

Testimonial

“The Employee Benefits framework enabled us to access a supplier we had identified that could meet our needs and deliver a saving for the trust and our employees. We are very happy with the service we are receiving from VIVUP.”
